All the stink that's fit to print

In the comments section of my last post, Szelsofa asked to hear more about the stink bugs (also known as shield bugs) that have invaded our Pennsylvania area. I'll do one better and allow an expert to give her (and anyone else who is fascinated by crawling, flying creatures) the low-down.

This is a video starring the so-called "stink bugs" from WHP-TV, a local television station:

* I feel compelled to add here that I think very highly of the anchor. I know Sherry--she's a lovely woman and quite the professional.*

The little stinkers aren't innately harmful to humans, though I suppose it's conceivable that a person could be allergic to their musty, spicy aroma. (When they are frightened or--dare I admit to it?--squashed, they emit a most unpleasant odor.)

So that's the deal. You can find out more about these household pests by doing a quick search on the web. Now, I must go seek and destroy the interesting, but uninvited, invaders...

Hey, I've occasionally seen those. Had no idea they were stinkbugs. Love the name.

i read a lot of your post, and honestly it sounds like you 'need a life' outside of the me, me, me concept; it'll kill you or make you insane (which ever comes faster). JMT.

Tiv ~ Yeah, stink bug. Not exactly a nickname you'd like, huh?

JMT ~ Believe it or not, I really appreciate the comment. I had no idea that my blog was coming off as self-serving or "look at how wonderful I am". In all sincerity, I'd like to know what types of posts you'd enjoy reading. Thanks for your honesty. Now go away. (ha! just kidding!)

Thank you for the post, that I inspired!
In fact, seeing bugs on a needle-pople, neatly arranged in a box in a lab, does not seem frightening to me.
I expected to see a house infested by thousands of mal-odoured crawling horror.

Well, thank you.
Living with them must be tough.
I don't especially like bugs.

Sz: I'm not too fond of bugs, either! But I do find their heartiness to be fascinating.

Ugggh... I meant HARDINESS! I obviously need to take some of my own medicine when it comes to proofreading my words before hitting "send"!
