I'm the Grinch... and I like it!

Is there anything better than watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"?

I'm telling you -- no matter what mood I'm in or how tired I am, I cannot turn away from that holiday classic.

They don't make 'em like that anymore.

(Man, that makes me sound ancient, doesn't it? Just get me a walker and a plaid blanket for my lap and I'll be set.)

The Grinch is certainly one of the best and a must-watch during this time of the year. The other one I have to see every year is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I swear I know all the lines by heart!

I'm personally fond of the Muppets' Christmas Carol, but others in my family favor one of The Simpsons' Christmas episodes --the one that features a racing dog. I blush to admit this, but I've never seen The Grinch. I do, however, remember the original of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer. Now THAT'S old.

I was just thinking yesterday that I was excited for this season because I'd get to see 'Scrooged' again. Weird. I know it's not a 'kids' show but I guess I just have a thing for 1980s Bill Murray and the idea of redemption....which also explains my "It's a Wonderful Life" fetish....minus the Bill Murray part...of course.

Well, if you think about it....aren't A LOT Christmas movies about one man's redemption? 'The Grinch' 'Bad Santa' 'A Christmas Carol'. Talk about a holiday beating a dead horse.

As for the 'Bad Santa' reference. I'd say that there are two types of movie fans, those who expect their Santa noble and god-fearing, with perhaps a hint of safe Tim Allen-esque humor, and those who'll allow him the occasional slip into vulgarity, promiscuity and armed burglary. If you're part of the former, I'm sorry for the reference:)

Right now I'm watching The Crow instead.
Muh-hah-hah.

For Christmas, there's always a bunch of DVDs under the tree.
